i find that people pushing universalist pro working class agendas tend to end up being called class reductionists or bigoted etc, when the opposite is the intention, when the much abused term of “intersectionality” is itself meant to mend for particular difference and not segregate us more.
asad haider (shuja’s brother) has written a lot of great stuff on this topic. he has a book called “mistaken identity” which largely outlines some of the black radical tradition and its relation to multicultural politics and more recent expressions of wokeism. its very good. this article is a good prologue to a discussion though one would wish it was longer and had more conclusions. still, offered me a lot of clarity at one point. highly suggested!
