What unites us is not a common sexuality or experiences or identities or self-expression. It’s that we are up against a common enemy.
When we allow ourselves to be split along lines of oppression, we always lose.
People won’t put their time, energy, and commitment into organizing unless they know that the movement they are building is defending their lives.
We need each other. We each need to know what it’s like to fight back alone. We need each other’s strength as allies. And we know what it’s like to feel like the only one who’s different.
When i talk about unity, i don’t mean reducing all our particular identities or struggles to one. I mean putting our collective strength and energy behind the defense of ALL our identities and ALL our demands.

Thanks for posting a link to some solid trans theory; I have more than a few people to share it with.
Lol says the queen of based. Keep posting comrade, your posts alone have definitely made me less of a lib.
Feinberg's last words were reported to be, "Hasten the revolution! Remember me as a revolutionary communist."
I finally got around to reading Trans Liberation, really digging it so far!
The pdf isn't working for me for some reason and I can't do epub but I'll listen to the audio and give thoughts as I hear it.
Chapter one fuck that weird doctor. Also growing up I also felt weird about what it meant to be a man. Took me a while but thought over the years it was best to find my own personal definition of manhood that was true to my soul. I couldn't always put it in words but felt like I didn't need to since this is for me to decide and everyone has to struggle and think this for themselves. Looking at that photo of Leslie Feinberg the first thing that comes to mind is powerful and cool. Defining trans right as being freeing to all is cool and good. Also fuck the judicial system.
Chapter two bigender sounds cool never heard of this before. My heart goes out to all those at the event that went back to suppressing themselves after the event. Coalition building super important. The point on drag culture super cool all about freedom and self expression. Wanna cry on the spouse part and loved ones super heart wrenching. In the opinion that love should conquer all. That brain part reminded me of phrenology same with gay gene. Society be shitty in constantly getting y'all to justify y'alls very existence constantly. Love hearing that portrait story very sweet and makes my eyes water. Love is great crying right now.
Chapter three like the inclusivity. Can't forget trans men. Reactionaries get the wall. Trans solidarity important we can't be divided. Douglas sounds cooler now. Trans comrades even more powerful now. Defining the self without putting others down important. Never understood how gender expression and sexuality could get confused but then remember my mom doing this constantly. Like that Chinese proverb. Do like hearing more about trans people of color this portrait is good nothing against my white trans comrades though love y'all. Wanna hear more about the historical things lost in the past about trans identity. Cowboys cool af.
Chapter four never realized how heavy those m or f boxes were until now. Gender neutral pronouns great I like y'all because cowboy. Portrait rejecting binary and not being constrained. Finding our own path. Second portrait uniting of self.
Sorry if this looks like a stream of consciousness but writing down thoughts as I listened to the chapters so I won't forget. Went through all the audio and now I think I may take a nap in a bit to solidify all this info. Thank you for showing this, will go back in a couple of days to listen to some parts again in case I forgot something but this was a valuable listen. Gonna count this as my theory for the week, hope y'all have a good
christmassor holidays.
