the US allowing poor people to die bc they can't afford healthcare is genocide.
Just because there's no barbed wire fences involved doesn't change the fact that there's a large-scale & sustained campaign of extermination against every generation of poor Americans by their own government.
thisthisthis. I've been trying to explain to people that the transition "gig economy" work is literally just a return to the way work worked under mercantilism, we aren't inventing a new thing we're just rolling back the changes to work-life from the market revolution of the mid-1800's, but without rebuilding the social infrastructure that had been built up to support people's capability to survive it.
100% agree. All that is going to be left in the near future is open class war on the poor. I've been calling this for months. It's nothing new. It's a return to feudalism and the new lords are going to be Sillicon Valley tech overlords, politicians they own in Congress and the usual billionaire class.
We've had 40 years of neoliberal policy destroying unions and worker's rights. It's definitely going back to the mid 1800s, which we're close to that already. That whole era after the Civil War was nothing but naked corruption with capitalists running the government and buying out politicians. Since our worker's rights and everything has been destroyed, we will need to start over from scratch. Something easier said than done.
People keep talking about a revolution in the US and that is not going to happen. We would need a full working class movement and real unity. Something we don't have here in the US at all cause the left is incredibly small and we spend more time infighting over stupid shit like China and DemSocs, to really get our shit together and do something. Things will just continue to escalate until we reach fascism and a potential civil war near the end of this decade.
