I mean, they are right in a sense, in most places in Europe age of consent is less than 18. Here it is 15. In the US 18 is barely legal, but it makes sense why they would be confused.
Fun fact, it used to be 17 for sex between men and 15 for everyone else, but it changed a couple years ago and it is 15 for everyone now.

Ehhh 2 years is not a little. You wouldn't call a 20 year old barely legal in the US.
Either way, whichever way the law is doesn't make it more or less creepy.
