I don't think so. Referring to someone reductively as "cis woman" IS intended to belittle who a person is. She's not wrong about that. I think the point comes across saying that she has a right to speak not because she's cis but because she's latina and racism is occurring. That seems totally appropriate.
Yeah I guess with context that might be the case, but I think she should have been more careful as the face of the party in how she worded that. Because out of context, it comes off as TERFish.
I've seen the twitters of the people making the accusation surrounding this quote. They seem completely in earnest and not (intentionally?) wrecking. Maybe i'm a rube, idk.
Sometimes trans people can be really bad faith whenever they get rebuffed while using trans-related rhetoric like the attempt here to dismiss Gloria's participation for cis woman. I mean this with all love for trans people of course. It's a bi-product of the thin skin we have due to the constant attack we're under. More than once have I seen a trans comrade double down when called out when they should have said "you know, you're right, that was a bad call of mine". It is difficult for many in our community because we're trained to be uncompromising as trans people can only improve their lives in society by taking that improvement, not by compromising their way to it.

Yeah as others have said here, reading it as just this quote it can read as a person who doesn't understand the meaning of cis.
I think it'll get passed around by wreckers out of context for a while and get debunked until it's widely known. Then it'll fizzle out.

Hmm.. ok yeah. I've done that as a disabled person myself before. I can recognize what you're talking about.
It's tough and it usually takes several days or weeks before the emotions die down that allow a person to reflect on it and re-process the situation.
