    There’s an 11% tax that companies charge when selling you a complete rifle, so you can save some money by buying a complete upper and a complete lower separately. Assembly is literally pushing two pins into place so no tools necessary

      Depending on your state assembling yourself is also a great way to get around the waiting period/background check too.

    For $600 your only real option is Palmetto State Armory. Yes they are chuds, but the gun is decent.

    If you're willing to spend a little more you could get a M+P sport II. Very good rifle for the money.

    The MP sport 2 and the Ruger MPR are best bang for your buck. They're also overpriced right now. I believe they both hover around 800 but were closer to 600 pre-corona. PSA makes similarly priced rifles.
