I’ve personally always been surprised with how many communists there apparently are in Japan there doesn’t seem to be very many openly leftist Manga and Anime artists.
Communist have worked in other parts of Japanese media, there’s actually a lot of communist Japanese filmmakers. Night and Fog in Japan is a good film about student radicals if you’re interested. Surprised nobody has made an anime version of kt.
