Yeah, this is classic Shock Doctrine, grab power for the state during crisis, never give it up after.

They've grabbed and not given it up ages ago. This isn't a new thing, French cops where equipped like that even before Bataclan and the like, and they murdered a guy at an illegal party just last year when they were chasing a a crowd of ravers off a cliff with tear gas., just as a recent example of how bad the situation is. A close advisor of Macron dressed up as a cop to beat up yellow vest protestors, dozens of people lost their eyes due to rubber bullets less than two years ago. There's regular riots in Paris suburbs because of yet another black or algerian kid getting beaten to death in the streets, or raped while in custody, or whatever else the pigs feel like. And that isn't a new thing, there's been mass murders of algerian protesters in the 1950s that are still not resolved today. France rules its pauperized areas with nothing but racist contempt, it was Macron's predecessor Sarkozy who said that the suburbs should be "cleaned up with a Kärcher", likening their inhabitants to filth to be blasted away with a pressure washer power tool popular with boomers.

What we're seeing in that pic isn't shock doctrine. It's the status quo installed by decades of it.

        France needs a new republic.

And to finally admit Vichy France was just France and start facing up to their shit for the last 100 years in particular.
