The whole thread is great, like an incel weirdo that totally didn't get what the show is about watching to the very end. At one point he said that cringe comedy is a contradictory term, even thought he literally watched the series finale of cringe comedy the show.

The plan: get a new generation of children interested in philosophy by sneaking it into a prank show.

The first thing I needed to do was consult a professional philosopher. So I put up an ad on Craigslist.

He's executive producer of How to with John Wilson, but given that John Wilson is credited with pretty much everything else of substance I'm going to guess that the "executive producer" credit is basically a marketing gimmick (as it often is).

Check out Review as well, I really like it. He reviews real-life experiences like starting a cult and sleeping with your teacher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Review_(TV_series)

mildly off topic, I never hear anyone talk about this show. i binge-watched a couple seasons of it a while back, and i thought it was pretty good. basically the same appeal as something like borat

I'm watching it now and really enjoying it. I tend to love cringe humour (Peep Show comes to mind as the archetype), and the Borat/who is America style pranks. I like that the butt of the joke tends to be Nathan and management consulting for the most part, takes off the guilt when an episode is focusing on people I might feel guilty laughing at.

And the show is surprisingly obscure, but I guess most comedy Central content is. I'm kind of amazed Nathan went on Kimmel with his dumb Starbucks prank, I assumed Kimmel and his staff would be in touch with the comedy scene enough to figure out what's happening, lol.

Me too, though I'm not actually familiar with Peep Show at all. I think the Borat "style" is to combine cringe humor with an attempt to see how much of a fool you can make of normal people. Like how ridiculous the things you can get them to say / agree to are. In Borat it was more just providing a platform for them to say the dumb shit they already felt, in Nathan For You it's more about pushing the limits of the dumb shit they'll just go along with if you bring it up first, but it hits the same notes for me.
