I like the idea that creating a succdem murica will a) prevent socialism abroad from getting sabotaged and b) will help build class consciousness inside the US so that when the international socialism that didnt get sabotaged comes to america, the country will be receptive to it.

my current view is the opposite, unless murica goes socialist we are all fucked. socialism needs to spread from the empirical core out, i don't see the opposite happening.

Highly disagree. The imperial core is the imperial core for a reason, and it will be the last piece to fall. Capitalism is always overthrown where it is the weakest, and not in the US, where capitalism is firmly embedded.

i find the argument attractive as it would certainly make the rise of global communism more likely. but i just dont see it, as long as the imperial core stands i dont see the outskirts nibbing at the edges or surviving in any meaningful way. what I see is a slow rise of a new capitalist core where the old one was (think transition from uk to usa) as capitalism moves away to "greener" pastures. now if the imperial core goes socialist, the entire world would follow in relatively quick fashion.

or so is my current mental wanking thought process, of course comrades should work towards socialism no matter their country.
