Same but I'm still a little confused haha. Does this instance have a reputation? I just found it browsing all and like leftist content

I've made 27,000 thousand posts over the last three years, which is frankly fucking astonishing even to me. That's about 25 posts every day.

I don't need to check my post count; someone is usually there to check it for me when they're that mad at something I posted and want to concern troll my value as a human being, my mental health status, or my career track.

We tend to be quite uncouth about it, and tend to be participate actively in comments, which has a lot of people who value civility over all else frequently hand-wringing about our presence haunting the fediverse hexbear-specter

We don't have downvoting. If you want to call someone a revisionist shitass who is a traitor to the working class you have to say that. or, you know, just deploy ppb.

yeah, it turns out rightwingers hate it when you treat their awful opinions with the civility they actually deserve, like posting PIGPOOPBALLS and demanding hog pics instead of getting bogged down in their internet debate

I think part of it is the fact the site has no downvotes. So when Hexbear users disagree with a take, they comment to explain why they think it's wrong.

Leftist site with a lot of active users means that there'll be some topics that can probably feel like a bit of a dogpile when a whole pack of users start wading in to give their views.

Alongside this, Hexbear users are intolerant towards any bigotry they encounter and a lot of folks out there have unexamined blind spots in that regard.

To some people out in the Lemmyverse, these factors have resulted in Hexbear getting a reputation as hyperagressive trolls that swarm any post they disagree with.

This is a great answer, thanks! Do you know if there's a way to add my pronouns or is that only for accounts on this instance?

if your instance has a "display name" feature, you can add them to the end of that i think
might need some squishing to fit character limits

            You're welcome.

I don't know if there's any way to add pronouns to an account on other instances, sorry.

In your settings there should be a 'display name' field that you can change that will be separate from your account name, you can add your pronouns to that and it will work.
