Not explicitly socialist theory, but some very interesting gender theory focused on analyzing horror movies from the 20th century, namely slasher, possession, and r*pe revenge films. One particularly interesting section discusses how gender is assigned not by the characters' gender, but by their function in the narrative, such as a female killer being "male" coded or a male victim being "female" coded. It's very interesting stuff.
