A very dear family member owns, through inheritance and mortgages, three apartments which they rent out. They don't see anything wrong with this, but (from the stories I hear) they seem to be one of those "good" landl*rds. However, they are willing to listen and engage with my anticapitalist ramblings, agreeing on most points. They sometimes joke about selling all of it and donating it to a good cause instead of leaving it to other family members, because that would (somehow) "agree" with my leftie beliefs. My question, Comrades, is what should I suggest they should do with these properties? Unless I am terribly mistaken, they might even listen to what I tell them to do if I present a good argument (which I am currently lacking).

maybe there's a regional housing organization like habitat for humanity that accepts donations? I'm automatically real skeptical of bourgeois charities, but it might be worth a look.

Yeah, I have thought of that, but am also very iffy about bourgeois charities.
