So many horror stories from right-wingers boil down to "I saw a poor person."
So many horror stories from right-wingers boil down to "I saw a poor person."
Sadly this has begun including liberals too
Just existing while being poor is enough to send these morons into a tizzy.
I saw it!!! Don’t ask why we didn’t cut to any footage of it I swear saw it!!!
Maybe they're so entrenched in right-wing ideology that they view her as the loony one. Or perhaps Fox News isn't above debasing itself to get engagement from left-liberals and leftists. Or maybe they were just lazy and didn't want to record more interview footage to fill the airtime.
Only a tiny percentage of their viewers live in big cities, so I'm certain that they think she's the crazy one. Their viewers are terrified of people they see outside of their cars, even in their small towns - walking next to the street? Must be homeless or secret antifas trying to steal meemaw's mypillow.
I know people like this who live in rural areas that are sort of like this. They love talking to other people that they know are part of their community. Anyone that looks or dresses "urban" is immediately started at with hostility and suspicion. It's where they reach anyplace near a city that they begin to panic and look over their shoulder every other second. You don't even need to be in the actual cities. The suburbs that are somewhat close are considered too much for them.
Or maybe they were just lazy and didn't want to record more interview footage to fill the airtime.

Or maybe in all the footage they captured this was the least humiliating
Hell, this is reddit take on it.
"Fox news is bad but I also don't agree with that lady down playing the fact that Seattle is a post apocalyptic hellhole."
We need one of our owls to deliver her an invitation to the Hexbear School of Dirtbags and Tankies.
Feels like someone in the editing room got fired. Like not just that woman but every person in the clip was like wut dude
Nah. This is standard issue "look at these out of touch stupid liberals!" man on the street bottom of the barrel budget reporting.
Its more a sign that FOX is cashing out on its news branch. They'll happily keep airing this bullshit for an increasingly senile audience because content quality no longer really matters to the show runners.
To us, it looks like Fox is making a mistake because the people they're interviewing are obviously correct. To an average Fox viewer, anything other than deranged fearmongering looks like delusion.
I mean, maybe. But this is pretty weak tea compared to the old "Steven Crowder makes college liberal cry" machismo shit that conservatives historically lead with.
Having your weaselly correspondent get bullied on camera just hits different.
The chuds aren't sending their best, folks. They're sending bad hogs. Sad!
I think in this case they narrowed it down to three people who looked the most "woke." The actual stuff they were saying was less important than showing FoxNews viewers a woman with blue hair.
Fox News posting someone saying "Crime is a social issue that can be solved by giving people their basic needs" as if this is an obviously and on its face ridiculous woke thing to say is so funny. Honestly for most of their audience it'll probably work but for a minority they're going to go "wait that makes sense though?".
There was a thing a while ago where Sean Hannity simply listed out AOC's platform and it was stuff like "support the elderly" and "improve healthcare" and he was simply showing it with the implication it was disgusting without the need to elaborate.
They straight up did that with the 1936 Soviet constitution once! The host reads a bit where the USSR bans racism by law and calls it genocidal. It's a wild watch.
I have no idea who this guy is but he sounds exactly like Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force and I'm gonna hurt myself laughing at his goofy nerd voice
You are absolutely correct, especially when he gets really into it.
Whenever Hasan covers anything this guy says he pulls up a 10 second clip of Shake talking on mute to overlay. Sometimes it syncs up perfectly.
oh my god this is like a delicious candy you've given me. This is perfect.
Wasn't it Stalin that said something about how the defeat of the USSR would lead to a period of the bleakest reaction?
That's not exactly what the host was saying. What he was trying to say was that the USSR promised all of these things and never delivered them, becoming instead an authoritarian dictatorship. Of course, we know that the USSR did achieve much of what was in that document. He then points to the U.S. constitution as something that "protects" America from communism. The U.S. constitution is of course a highly aspirational document that fails U.S. citizens on a daily basis.
I completely forgot that Fox News was in a nominal blue state and one that conservatives believe to be ruled with an iron fist by Commissar Eryk Adimsky
