This is a bit of a dumb question but while I hear the phrase "Eat the rich" getting tossed around a lot, is there anyone here that is actually 100% serious in the idea of "Given the opportunity, I will literally grill and devour Elon Musk's calf"

Using a throwaway because I don't want to be the guy associated with starting the cannibalism struggle session

    Unironic comment:

'Eat the rich' is mostly good as a slogan because libs can't use it. Any political statement made by the left that can be watered down, will be. Politicians will try to co-opt it in a way that makes it purely performative. They did it with 'Defund the Police', they did it with BLM, but they can't do it with ACAB or 'Eat the Rich'.

Killing a billionaire literally won't do anything, all that money is gonna get sent to one or two failsons & faildaughters who will then take their place. 'Eat the rich' is good for letting off steam and reaffirming who the enemy is. It's a rallying cry that excludes libs.

Yes, but originally BLM had a series of important demands that would improve the lives of black folks in the US. Once the Democrat leadership was 'supporting' them it was by doing shit like kneeling while wearing traditional African clothes, rather than arguing for better police oversight or more resources for African-American communities. Essentially, 'BLM - the grassroots movement' and 'BLM - the DC edition' have very little in common apart from the name, and because of that, the DC version is drowning out the actual complaints and demands made by black people. For obvious reasons, it's not possible for centrist democrats to do the same with ACAB.

This is what I mean by terms being co-opted or not.
