Yeah, I think they've kinda realized that they can't really do shit with all that info. It's just another money sink like the military. The security state is the reason the tech bubble hasn't burst yet.
100% this, too much data no way to process in a meaningful way. Think about it in logistics, have to monitor and predict 330 million people with only a few million tops, fledgling AI ability, and a bias so intense it causes fog of war and squanders the vast majority of their resources minus feel good factor.
Yeah, they basically built the perfect system for general purpose central planning lol. Too bad they'll never use it for that and will just keep trying to get it to read our minds with the same success they'd have drawing blood from a stone.
