I'm not 1% of Brooke. I'm cis. But I wanted to say that I, too, love my trans comrades, and will miss all of you who are leaving.
I think, and should hope, more people on this site truly care about you than those who don't. Part of what makes a space welcoming, though, is to have those former voices outweigh the latter. When someone takes issue with listening to a comrade who is trans, or brown, or comes from a different background -- they have a reason to speak up, and to make that comrade feel less than welcomed.
It is on all of us, who do care, who would listen, but who don't have a reason to speak up because we take no issue and are content to observe an argument, a bad take, dismissiveness or bigotry from a distance — it is on us to speak up and make each comrade feel welcomed and cared about.
So I love my trans comrades. I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner.
