It's been a good run, but COVID finally caught me. I foolishly thought I'd skate through this whole thing because I'm an introvert and don't really "go places", but my whole family got it and found out the day after I had visited them for about two hours. Then the next day after that I started showing symptoms too.
I feel fine for now, just average flu symptoms, but I definitely can't afford to pay my HMO for any kind of care, so my plan is to load up on generic brand nyquil and hope it doesn't get worse.
Thanks for reading my rant. Stay safe and wear a mask, ya'll.
that really blows comrade.
hope you and the fam make it through with as little difficulty as possible, and avoid those longterm ramifications. :heart-sickle:
I got some codeine prescribed. It helped a lot more than the NyQuil. Take care. It’s tough
for COVID? I know it's a cough suppressant, but prescribing an opiate still seems strange
Why? You’re super sick. It makes it easier to sleep and suppress the worst throat pain I’ve ever had.
Man when I lived in Japan you could just get codeine over the counter. The drug war is a fuck.
Stay strong comrade. Here hoping that both you and your family go through it without it becoming more than a cold :heart-sickle: :heart-sickle:
Hopefully you get through this with mild symptoms.
If symptoms get worse, go to the hospital. Just refuse to pay afterwards.
Debt is better than death.
I got it over christmas and it didn't end up being too bad. Still have a cough and no sense of taste but nothing too debilitating. Fingers crossed you have a better experience than even that :Care-Comrade:
