obviously i had heard things but never had actually been there. for a place that claims to be where the chapo refugees have gone, it's nothing but conservatives and "classical liberals" (according to their flairs) bitching about libs and identity politics. if there are any leftists there at all they must have all rolled out or just don't post. maybe one or two "right socialists" whatever the fuck that is (nazbol or something).
Imagine portraying to be a leftist forum and having a "classical liberal" flair.
oh they have "neoliberal", "right liberal"...fuck they have like maybe 5 leftist flairs and the rest are all other stuff/right/meme/or lib. seems like another r/PCM
Is "right liberal" yet another word for "fiscally conservative, socially performatively liberal"? I thought "liberal" encompassed that.
"Right liberals" or conservative liberals are basically the norm for right wing parties in many countries that aren't the US. In the US liberal carries a connotation of progressivism on social issues. These people don't carry that connotation.
I guess you gotta hand it to them for using the term correctly.
Edit: issuing correction on a previous post of mine. you do not, under any circumstances, "gotta hand it to them"
Sorry, I was thinking of leaving it there for someone else to post but couldn't help myself.
Ah, so it's still hating an outgroup and defending the five people benefiting from capitalism, just with yet another new window-dressing.
Imagine trying to organize a movement or engage with political opponents when you wall off participation, even when half your members readily admit they used to harbor chud attitudes.
This would be a pretty good comparison, if the forum we are talking about was actually leftist. If your idea of converting chuds is telling them to just switch aesthetics while keeping all their current ideals, go off.
When the alternatives are thedonald, r/neoliberal, or r/politics, I think stupidpol has a better shot at converting chuds.
I don't know how much good the converting does, when it consists of slurs and class reductionism.
when they think LVT will fix capitalism, calling them class reductionists is overly charitable
Who knew an eclectic bunch of wreckers and posers would end up embracing liberalness and reaction
Reminder that u/CorticoefferentCrab and u/GucciBananaBricks were co-founders of that sub and also huge fans of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (sorry "the opposition") in Syria struggle sessions.
They also stanned Al Franken and the google evopsych manifesto dork and would go on 100+ comment diatribes about this, not to mention bringing up Rachel Dolezai to attack trans people constantly.
I still remember when Ohmiglob banned crab after coming back from a suspension over IIRC allowing John Brown posting, that was a good day lmao.
