While speaking out against the ultra-right white supremacist mob that stormed the Capitol last week, AOC referred to the Capitol as the “citadel of democracy.” Organizing and speaking out against the right should not mean glorifying the imperialist, capitalist U.S. Capitol and what takes place within its walls.
They're both needed. AOC and Sanders ect are going to see their potential options limited by the very institutions they want to change. We saw first hand Sanders' failure to make tearing down the party his central plank, despite him secretly wanting to year down the party.
Every elected official will be warped by the institutions that give them power.

They have no power, let alone a secret power level. Their original motivations and current motivations are immaterial. The only thing that matters is what they can accomplish, and they have to work within a system that is anathema to the left, yet they rely on that system to try and gain power.
Electoralism is quite shite, but it isn't useless. Pushing the SocDems left is important, but it shouldn't take up so much energy, and calling Sanders/AOC/whoever a sellout is a waste of energy. The only thing that will pose a threat to the ruling class is a militarized labor movement.
