    Apperantly this is the same as what happened in 2001 when the Senate was last tied

    Keep in mind that tied votes go through the committee, so Republicans can't block anything in a committee even if they have equal seats

        Part of this power sharing agreement is that tied votes pass. This is what happened in 2001 I think when the Senate was last split.
