It's embarrassing enough I had to call her for help because I couldn't trust myself to make the step, but to be advised to learn to code while I'm in hospital as I'm leaning on her in nothing but a towel is a new level.

Then again this is the same woman I overheard tell the afternoon guy that I'm "a bit useless" when they switched shifts so I shouldn't be surprised.

    Learn to code is the same level of advice as buy some shoes and a suit and walk into random office buildings to get a job with your firm handshake.

      to be fair, a decent suit DOES look good, and C++ is fun AF.

      vanity and play have value; one could even argue they're the whole point of work once we pass a certain point; don't get married to some dreary soviet xenophobia bullshit just because you're communist.
