The older I get the more I grow to hate that JFK quote. Just the idea that people should be subservient to the government (and expect nothing in return) is so asininely frustrating.
It pisses me off more that the "do for you country" shit is always interpreted exclusively as military service, nothing else. You can't serve America by serving the people in it, apparently.
