The only record I have of your comments being removed was an iffy take about zionism about 2 months ago. You can refine the modlog by user name - and moderator if you want to investigate their past actions.
The site doesn't seem to handle pages beyond page one well on any of the places you can go to multiple pages. Until the issue's resolved, the trick is to refresh the page after hitting next.
All our code is open source, you can inspect it here: https://git.chapo.chat/chapo-collective/lemmy-hexbear
We try to be as transparent as possible, and do appreciate people bringing problems / criticisms to our attention. That said, we don't exactly appreciate people spreading FUD - we're just trying our best to do well by the site and its community.
I think he means it would have been better to message the mods about it first, then make the post if they didn't reply/give satisfactory answers
Add a issue ticket to the git then, btw hexbear dev stuff goes in https://hexbear.net/c/hexbear not main
questions like 'Is there a moderation log that keeps records of all actions, or only some? is there a way to ensure that the code being operated on this website is verifiably preserving all mod actions?' aka is hexbear opensource can be answered easily and don't need there own thread
You can if you change the page number in the URL and refresh the page
i mean this isnt mods doing anything, the site just doesnt keep a record i think
I was replying to Kristina not being able to get past the first page.
Your issue I don't have an answer for.
Ok, giving this some thought, I know that on the overview tab, sometimes it doesn't show all posts and comments in order.
I think that's just lemmy being weird.
So, if you're looking through comments, click on the comments tab rather than staying in overview.
It does look like the pages after the first are broken somehow. I count only 34 posts in your first page, and then there are none in page 2.
I'd assume this is a flaw in the code rather than some kind of cover-up, though.
