These books won't be stories of Harry and his adventures, but they will be a factual series about the subjects he and his friends studied at Hogwarts.

The books, which will be released as short e-books, will explore the "traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the series".

Official fan site Pottermore has released the names of the books, some of which will be released at the end of June:

Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures

They're not even real books! Rowling's released this sort of thing before, back when the original books were still being published. Not that I would've read new Harry Potter books anyway since Rowling outted herself as a transphobe, but I still think it's dumb. It's not like the lore or internal history of Harry Potter is interesting anyway, it's all pretty clearly made up as she went along without much thought put into it. Which is fine, they're children's books, but it's been fourteen years since a HP book came out, ten years since the last original series movie came out, and even little kids don't like the terrible new movies. Who is this for? Who is excited about this? Fucking Harry Potter and the Tree of Nothing.
