    Probably best to start talking about that stuff now, while they're all together. "It's rigged against you; just watch, they'll change the rules" is pretty persuasive when it proves right.

      was thinking recently about this: even much of the radical right wing has a fundamentally correct mistrust of their own government and understand (albeit loosely and poorly) its unhealthy connection to Wall Street - they just never find the right sources to understand how and why that is, and what to do about it (christman talks about this a lot). i want to believe in my heart of hearts that no one is beyond the pale.

          oh no doubt, but the point is the racist/jingoist/tribal bullshit just fills the vacuum where their actual politics would be if they had a better purchase on reality. not trying to coddle these fuckers; they DO have access to real information, they just dont have the scruples to vet through all the bullshit around and in between, which... I mean... there's an entire tech/media/economic system working against them. there but for the grace of god go chapo
