Explain like I'm a liberal: If the democrats say they need filibuster proof majority to pass the $2k checks, why don't they just make the republicans stand up and filibuster to prevent their constituents from getting the $2k that Trump demanded?
Please something more than "because the democrats are controlled opposition".
The idea of a filibuster can in no way be unique to western politics right?
I've seen how different democracies can work, lots of places have very long drawn out debates about topics and then eventually come to a final conclusion that they all vote for, but how many other places use the technique of "This blustering asshole won't shut the fuck up and let someone else talk" and actually think thats a good way of getting things done?
