This is awkward is because whenever you explain that the 11 million number is made up, people look at you like you're a Holocaust denier.

Zionists can have a little Holocaust denial, as a treat

(Just going out on the worlds smallest limb and guessing this dude is a raging Zionist)

Some guy in the replies even posted:

As an Israeli, I had never heard the 11 million number. Interesting!

Some people, more provocative than I, refer to this as "all lives matter"-ing the Holocaust.

"I don't say this, those other people do, but I'm gonna say it now anyway lol"

Seems like the part about "ordinary wartime atrocities" is doing a lot of work to make his argument seem valid. Thats my first impression anyway.

I think he is not entirely wrong that there was a historian who exaggerated some numbers of non-Jewish victims, without thoroughly investigating the issue. However, it is my understanding that it is very well established that there were millions of non-Jewish victims, especially Slavic people, like this is on the holocaust memorial website and shows those numbers. It is clear that the Nazis also hated Slavic people and wanted to reduce their population and enslave the remainder, so this should really be considered as part of the genocide and not just "normal war", imo. I guess what this guy is saying is that it was more common to not send Holocaust victims from the USSR to the death camps, and instead many were murdered by the Einsatzgruppen in Eastern Europe. Then I guess some people might claim that these victims are not Holocaust victims per se, but instead just victims of the war. I guess autismdragon said this in a much more succinct way.

When the entire number of non-Jews he states is like a LOW estimate of how many actual Roma died.

I'm pretty sure the stat is 6 million Jews were murdered and 11 million non-Jews were murdered, the latter group mostly being non-Jewish Soviet civilians, Soviet POWs, and Poles.

      https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/documenting-numbers-of-victims-of-the-holocaust-and-nazi-persecution

US Holocasut Memorial Museum has a breakdown of estimated victims

      ~

This would actually show more than the 10-11 million if I'm reading it correctly.

The twitter post guy is an idiot though attempting to take a tragedy and remove sympathy for any non-jewish victims

      ~

Like BLM saying it's wrong to remember non-black victims of police brutality
