Looking closely I genuinely can't tell. There's no explicit fuckery, just a few odd things: the lower chains appear to be different lengths from one another, the metal bars don't appear to be connected to the head, the far metal bar looks like it's hanging loose so how those bars and chains would provide actual support is unclear, the center chain just comes straight down to something unseen on the head instead of to a rear ring that could support the back (although this would explain the other supports hanging loose, if they're just there to stop it from pitching forwards too much when someone sits in it), the teeth are weird and seem mismatched between the sides, and the shadow/reflection looks like it might be the wrong shape.

Conclusion: either some janky but impressive hobby build (since most of the issues are "maybe this shouldn't be built like this?") or an AI image.

It's definitely an AI image, the shadow vs gleam on the floor is fucked and the house plants are a mess

The light is always wrong on the central figure, but like, you have to squint judt right to see it.

Yep, fake image, only listing is on a scam website among a bunch of other dinosaur hanging chairs that are all impossibly cheap and equally AI generated.

You can usually tell by the vibe of the image. This was definitely made with Midjourney. Everything it produces without specific artistic direction has the same vibe when it comes to lighting and saturation

I'd pretend I'm in a mercury capsule and make sci fi noises until my wife leaves me.

This is how you break your leg fleeing terror from this when you're groggily wandering to the bathroom

Probably real easy to hit your head on its jaw or snag your clothes or hair on one of the teeth.

Beyond that, it's aesthetically neat, but it seems like it'd wear out bad and get dusty with its mouth full of like spiders and hair after a while.

I think it'd be much improved with like an arm running across the base with a big claw at the end
