    I guess I leaned in too much to the "drama associated with them" part of your post.

    The other stuff is on a case-by-case basis. Quality varies wildly among cartoons that air on major channels too, not just online. Shows like Family Guy have been dogshit for years, yet they keep cranking out new seasons. The same goes for production conditions -- some online cartoons are produced by exploitative companies (think Machinima), while others are the projects of passionate individuals. Aside from online cartoon episodes often being much shorter than those on TV, I don't think there's all that much of a fundamental categorical difference. Shows on the air with big budgets can be terrible, and anyone who writes off something posted online purely because it's not on TV is just a snob.

    As for Hazbin in particular, from some short clips that I've seen, the quality of the animation itself looks great -- lots of detail, especially in motion. Some of the character designs, however, aren't very good IMO. They look like someone glued some random shapes to a character's body. It's all very 2009 Hot Topic-ish.
