What's doubly funny about this is there's a movie going around at the festivals called "Zone of Interest" which is basically this. It's a movie about a German family living a pleasant life, going on holidays, having parties, like two blocks away from Auschwitz. Obviously the movie goes "wow, look how fucked up this is, isn't this fucked" but the amount of people who will then apply that lens to real life is like zero.

Yeah ok, let's assume this violence is "pointless." What the fuck else do you expect Palestinians to do? Sit down and die quietly? The cycle of violence continues regardless of what Palestinians do. They're the only ones who can break it, because it's obvious that Israel won't. Revolutionary violence is never pretty. It is, however, necessary. Long live the fighters.
don't be surprised when the people who have lived their entire lives in a concentration camp have completely dehumanized their captors and take glee in extreme violence against them. This shit isn't good, but it is the only outcome possible given the circumstances israel has subjected them to for generations. Don't want unfiltered violence enacted against you? Simple, don't imprison a few million civilians while subjecting them to racist violence for their entire fucking lives with no hope of escape.

What we are seeing today is pushback on settler colonial genocide. Liberals shed crocodile tears for their settlers and ignore the intentional, genocidal project they usually cheerlead. A project that, putting aside even the actual campaign of disposession and mass murder (which should never be forgotten), kills an order of magnitude more Palestinians on a regular basis.
Even the liberals that manage to attach their stunted empathy to Palestinians, who even make attempts to think of them as people, can rarely actually oppose Israel itself, which has just announced and undertaken blatantly genocidal responses. Your first thought is, "how can I tut-tut the oppressed'"?
