its weird how little people are talking about and preparing for the B117. Like, we've learned nothing and everyone that I know that knows about what is going to happen is like "lol, yeah, its gonna suck, butwhatchagonnado?

so far overall cases are going down, so it "might" not matter and the vaccines "might" be enough to stop the spread. but i got my eyes on texas

holy god, not you, but does this make me so mad these days. billionaires got billions richer and our entire economy is dying in slow motion. like, maybe, actually doing something for a few months would be cheaper than not doing something.

Americans would rather die than have billionaires pay a little more in taxes.

          It's good, actually.

MMT stands for Modern Monetary Theory. The big takeaway is that countries like the United States -- countries which issue their own fiat currency, pay obligations in that currency, and have robust productive capacities -- can do a whole lot more deficit spending before it becomes an issue. This doesn't mean that we can print unlimited money and solve big problems with it, but it does mean that we can print far more money than we currently do without risking consequences like runaway inflation. It's a direct answer to "but how are you gonna pay for it?" deficit scolds.

Unsurprisingly, there's a nice Citations Needed episode on the subject where they interview one of the leading MMT economists.

Lost the plot while posting all over the site. I thought MMT was some new virus strain or something
