I'm sure everyone on this site will still find a way to bitch about not getting laid.

Would online dating apps be needed if we had a bunch of free time, actual attachment to our communities, and a variety of activities that others would participate in?

Yeah I feel like that is the big question

plenty of people will still likely have anxieties and proclivities to staying inside / being shy

just because socialism gets rid of a lot of economic stress doesnt mean people cant be shitty anymore. there will still be abusive people that would make people anxious and stuff and drive people to online connections

I'm going to guess that homebodies and introverts would be more likely to use it. Under socialism, you'd have time to meet people offline. The workplace hierarchy should be more horizontal and you might feel safer asking/being asked out by a co-worker as a result.

Do they have online dating in actually existing socialist countries? If yes, then the answer is probably yes.

In the movie "Moscow doesn't believe in tears https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow_Does_Not_Believe_in_Tears they have a dating system setup with a kindly lady send a filing cabinet for people who have no time because they are working too much... so yeah computerised dating services would exist
