What if you, instead, suggested that the rich people who control the world really don't care about religion.
I'd say it was a positive response. I've talked about the ruling class instead and discussed what class means and so on
A 2020 Credit Suisse global wealth report estimates that the top 1% of households globally own over 43% of all personal wealth. The top 0.1% owns about 25% of the world's wealth. The bottom half of the global population only owns about 1% of the world's wealth.
A 2020 Oxfam report also revealed:

Idk I'm not especially smart but I've read enough to be fairly confident in my Marxist analysis. I usually try to meet people (whether MAGA or lib) halfway, to genuinely understand where they're coming from and find some point to agree on. Like "yes you're right that the Rothschild family is part of an elite group, but here is my take on why this group is ethnically/religiously agnostic" or something like that. What's cool is that I've found beyond the propaganda, most people deep down respond very well to Marxist analysis if you just refer to your analysis as "material conditions" instead of the buzzwords like proletariat/bourgeoisie.
