No, I'm not imminently gonna get laid and that's why I need this info. unfortunately, but it is something I've genuinely been curious about since there's, like, seemingly more condoms than there are Pokemon (Including, hilariously, "tropical flavored" ones I saw years ago that I still remember).

So, to you who actually have first-hand experience, what's the best condom, not just to wear, but also for my future hypothetical partner(s) to receive?

RE ribbed/studded condoms... from personal experience, maybe check with your partner first, my partner finds them to cause a bit more chaffing than smooth.

Always buy lubricated condoms. Always have extra lube handy.

If neither you or your partner have experience with spermicidal lube (sometimes used in condoms, sometimes sold separately) be aware that some people have a bad reaction and it can cause urinary tract infections/irritation.

Latex is probably the least likely to break when used properly but I find them to have a strong odor. Its been a while since I've used non-latex but i don't think they had such a strong odor but when I've had a condom break it's happened way more times with non-latex.

Trojan and Lifestyles are the brands I tend to stick with.

If you're old enough to get into an adult "toy" store, and are brave enough to talk face to face with somebody about this, an employee might be able to get into the nitty gritty of brands and styles. They might even sell a "grab bag" of assorted brands/styles and you can just experiment before hand. Fit is very important, you don't want the condom to have wrinkles after its put on because 1) that's something that can cause a break in the condom, 2) its probably going to cause pain when worn, and 3) its likely to cause an internal abrasion (which might feel fine in the moment but will hurt later).

The warnings against "oil" based lubricants are specifically for petrochemical oil and not for nut/vegetable type oils. So don't freak out if your trying to be fancy and use almond oil for some massage/foreplay before needing to use a condom.
