I doubt anyone here thinks prosecuting everyone is a good thing, but it's a decent article that could sway the misguided :LIB: who wants to jail everyone.

      Meanwhile if you can't afford even cheap bail, youll be behind bars for months on end, and now even longer because the pandemic has backed cases up.

      I know someone who was at 9 months when a few people saved money for months to bond him out for 7.5k about 3 months ago. if that didn't happen, he'd be sitting in there for at least 18 months. And they sure as hell weren't attacking our vaunted "beacon" and "ziggurat" of democracy

        That’s why it pissed me off so much - this caveat needs to be repeated, even if we advocate for them to not being the hammer down on some of these people - it does give me pause when it comes to endorsing a “let’s not jail our enemies in an unjust system” because it’s not like we are seeing any progress in fixing that system for more vulnerable POC
