I mean in regards to stuff like throwing around the term "terrorism" with no analysis or insight into a group or people actions, WHY it happened. Believing the media narrative about the "barbaric" hordes we need to go and kill. The propaganda that empires put out to subjugate the global south. All this stuff that was laid bare with the original 9/11, that libs love to smugly look back on and claim "oh I never supported that, I was smarter than that" (need I remind you that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney got rehabilitated, by liberals, too). And no here they are, just back at it again as if the last 20 years never happened.

I hate liberals, I really do. These people are not your fucking friends.

Wholesome Bush giving a werthers original candy to Michelle Obama while straddling a pile of 500,000 Iraqi skulls.

There was nothing to learn, 9/11 just gave them permission to show their true colors. It is the same now.

The lesson they should have learned is that they are the baddies and they need to repent and turn to Allah, but instead they learned the exact opposite lesson

They have completely rewritten WWII to fit their "Russia bad" worldview.

The real second 9/11 in terms of lasting damage to our culture was russiagate.

Many liberals will need a century of humiliation to overcome their chauvinism.

Totally agree. Conservatives can be written off and frankly I respect their lack of respect. A reactionary knows exactly who he or she is. The problem with libs is they live in a fantastical bubble of non-reality. They're chameleons in constant contradiction. They have no real political compass. And ultimately they're enablers of fascists as long as they get a warm fuzzy in the feels, and everyone nominally recognizes that there are two sides to every story - or some shit.

Unless their privilege is under threat. In which case they turn into blood thirsty savages.

I was a little kid back then so I wasn’t really exposed to the post 9/11 patriotic war fervor but I imagine this is probably the closest we’ve come to that since. In that if I say anything at work about this I may be fired.

People are getting aspects of war that are usually downplayed being captured in pornographic detail being performed on people shown as relatable. They're horrified because war is brutal and impartial and gross. The fact its being perpetuated on people who've been far more brutal and impartial and gross for far longer isn't really something they can accept. Because life is a movie to them, the bad guys are stopped by the good guys not by other bad guys. The idea that the concept of good guys and bad guys is reductionist and infantile invalidates their entire worldview.

Holy shit. Israel is calling Palestinians every dehumanizing slur. Move Russians to take over Palestinian lands. How do they not see they are supporting a genocide? Oh yeah, otherwise would have to admit they are still committing one on Native Americans.

The Democratic Party criticism of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan was, for many years, that the Republicans were prosecuting it incompetently, so I don't find it very surprising at all
