It really says something that conservatives, who openly despise poor people, were willing to just cut a check to pretty much everyone, but liberals can't even bring themselves to do the same thing.
If you're going to insist on means testing to make sure the right people get it, why not weed out people bringing home over 250k, the highest income bracket for taxes?
They are begging for fascists to embrace the white welfare state position, and when they lose to those fascists they'll double down on horseshoe rhetoric and blame the left.
