      He also said that he doesn't believe the global north is extracting resources from the global south to keep them all. The fact that Neoliberal holds him up as some kind of intellectual really shows how desperate they are for one.

        Neoliberals have two kinds of intellectuals:

        The cartoonishly evil, understanding how western countries depend on imperialism and keeping half of the world poorer than it. The Kissingers of the world. Unpopular among regular every day libs, but revered in the ruling class and ruling class wannabes like r/neoliberal

        The utter fools of the "everything is getting better all the time/everything is already great". They're fools, but it's what they peddle to the average libs. Or try to, at least. Basically everywhere in the west, libs are embracing fascism because the lib nationalism peddled to them ("Liberalism is the best way to advance the nation in a way that everyone has prosperity") is seen as a sham.
