I know everyone scoffs when people throw around the phrase 'left unity', but it's something that I actually believe in and I hate to see things break down between honest-to-god leftists. That being said, there are some opinions I've seen tossed around here that I can't fucking stand. I'm really not trying to start a struggle session here, but this is just something I need to get off my chest. If you eat a pickle after 12pm, but it's the first thing you've eaten that day, it still counts as a "breakfast pickle". A lot of people work night shifts or just wake up later, it's absurd to have such rigid standards for what constitutes a breakfast pickle or not. These pickle purity tests are alienating people who just want to have a breakfast pickle at 12:30 or 1:00pm without being scolded for being "bad leftists".
I'm not trying to go overboard here; I understand that eating a pickle at 4pm, even if it's your first meal of the day, is still an "afternoon pickle". I just don't think it's fair to limit breakfast pickle hours to before 11:59 am.
I will also concede that if you have a cup of coffee or tea, and then eat a pickle later, it doesn't qualify as a breakfast pickle. You had coffee for breakfast, then you ate a pickle; that's not the same as eating a breakfast pickle with your coffee obviously. But if you have your first cup of coffee and a pickle at 1:30 in the afternoon, I think it is completely reasonable to consider that a breakfast pickle.
Anyways, if the mods want to ban me or whatever, fine. I've said my piece.
Breakfast just means break the fast. Your first meal after a fast is always breakfast. Doesn't matter what time you eat it. When I was on third shift getting up at 7p, I still had breakfast.
