As a West coast Swede, we already eat shitloads of shrimps and prawns and shit. I think the only reason we don't eat bugs is that we ain't got any common bugs big enough to comfortably cook.
But then again, we didn't like prawns for a good long while, because every time you found a dead guy in water, there was prawns eating him, so it was seen as barely short of cannibalism to eat them.
Funny thing is, wherever you die in water, every fish down there will also cut a slice off of that good-good corpse-meat, but since fish can swim away, they get less of the blame. Except for eel and mackerel, those tended to get all in your cavities, eating holes and wrihgling into you, so theyd also get branded corpse food.
