There's a lot going on with Militech and Arasaka in the game, they're basically the corporation that controls what remains of USA and Japan respectively. Off the top of my head:
They break up a strike by going in shooting everyone
They patrol the border and shoot everyone with a gun, and execute everyone who doesnt have a gun and afterwards plant guns on them
Shoot up a bunch of enviro-activists and hide their bodies in a construction site
Go into multiple homeless camps and shoot everyone to get one guy
I mean the game isnt the next manifesto against capitalism but it's not without undertones, both political and otherwise.
