The overall story has almost nothing to do with class. I'm glad at least a few of the story writers did something with the material, even if it's just a small text box in one of the side missions.

There's a lot going on with Militech and Arasaka in the game, they're basically the corporation that controls what remains of USA and Japan respectively. Off the top of my head:

    • They break up a strike by going in shooting everyone
    • They patrol the border and shoot everyone with a gun, and execute everyone who doesnt have a gun and afterwards plant guns on them
    • Shoot up a bunch of enviro-activists and hide their bodies in a construction site
    • Go into multiple homeless camps and shoot everyone to get one guy

I mean the game isnt the next manifesto against capitalism but it's not without undertones, both political and otherwise.

there is actually a major quest where you help a bunch of sex workers violently seize control of their workplace.

There's a few sideplots like that. In one you get to wipe out a corporate firm that specializes in "taking care of" union organizers

main plot had to please the capitalist overlords but there were clearly some commies on the team, tons of anticapitalist content in the lore. also at some point you can access a leftist web forum that's pretty much exactly what you would expect a leftist web forum to look like.
