i dont even know what to do with this information
I found out on 23andme that Yascha Mounk is my cousin if it makes you feel better
you should really figure out how and go throw a milkshake at him you're allowed because you're family. an ultranationalist twat has to respect that i think
What's crazy is it's from a side of the family that didn't even know we existed until my parents did 23 and me. It was interesting to meet my long lost grandfather and extended family, but unfortunately I legit think my great grandfather is a full on war criminal. He ran the military police in Seoul during the Korean war so god knows what he did.
It was always an extreme point of pride for my grandmother our family was related (thru marriage lmao) to Andrew Jackson. I think the only real thing you CAN do about a heritage like yours or mine is just not make it into part of your identity. It's a Fun Fact, not a part of who you are.
You just have to hope that your problematic ancestor doesn't end up on some currency.
Ooof at least you don't got his evil blood. I've been playing Baldurs Gate lately and I'm worried Himmler is going to show up in my dreams and turn me into a nazi
The first thing I'd do if I found out I was related to Rudolph Hess is google who the heck Rudolph Hess is.
Doing nothing is fine. It's not like evil is genetic or anything
you're right. i guess the only real thing to do is post about it on r*ddit for 10k points and reddit prime
Might as well, they do love their Nazi peepaws over there
If you're ever featured on the PBS show Finding Your Roots, just don't try to hide it like Ben Affleck did with his slave-owning ancestors.
I do have slave owners in my family too though. I don't blame Ben Aflack for that, I try to hide that fact too. It's shameful
