The people on his side who could vote against him don't believe the pandemic is happening and think the electrical grid crashed due to alternative energy. That alternative energy threatens the industry poisoning them, the one driving statewide privitisation and deregulation which resulted in the electrical grid being below national standards. If someone tries to intervene they'll probably be besieged by hicks with assault rifles like the Michigan governor. Ted Cruz won 80% of the republican primary in 2018. edit: Also, the broadband gap means their access to information is somewhere around what I had in 2003. Working for an ISP that serviced the great plains was very disturbing.

      Probably a lot.

Honestly the blue libs and the red libs will be happy to quite literally argue themselves to death while these rich ruling class fucks build vacation homes on their graves. They're doing it now; just look at all the blue libs crossing their arms and tutting at Texans who are LITERALLY DYING because "shouldn't have voted RED!!!" If the tables were turned and this was California or something it would be the same; the red libs would be crossing their arms and tutting at Californians because "shouldn't have voted BLUE!!"

I don't know when it happened but Americans are so convinced that their color ideology is the only thing that matters. Material conditions are irrelevant to these people; the only thing that matters is that their particular color of lib is in power and everyone who roots for a different color of lib needs to die.
