No matter to what degree China opens up to the outside world and admits foreign capital, its relative magnitude will be small and it can't affect our system of socialist public ownership of the means of production.

Deng Xiaoping

"The principle of upholding the socialist path. The principle of upholding the people's democratic dictatorship. The principle of upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) The principle of upholding Mao Zedong Thought and Marxism–Leninism"

  • 4 Cardinal Principles formulate by Deng Xiaoping

Deng Xiaoping, Han nationality (Hakka), was born Deng Xixian in 1904 in Guang'an county, Sichuan province. He went to France in 1920, where he worked, studied, discovered Marxism-Leninism, and joined the CPC in 1924. Deng spent part of 1926 studying at the Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow, before returning to China in 1927.

Deng then joined the Red Army during the first civil war against the Guomindang. During the Long March in 1934, he served as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee. In the late 1930s and 1940s, Deng continued his political work in the Red Army during the War of Resistance against Japan and the second civil war against the Guomindang.

Deng was named to several important posts in the new People's Republic after 1949. In 1957, Deng became CPC General Secretary and ran the country's daily affairs with then President Liu Shaoqi. Amid growing disenchantment with Mao's Great Leap Forward, Deng and Liu gained influence within the CPC when, in the early 1960s, they directed successful economic reforms.

When Mao launched the Cultural Revolution in 1966, Deng was purged and sent to work in the countryside. Premier Zhou Enlai was able to convince Mao to bring Deng Xiaoping back into politics in 1974 as First Deputy Premier, in practice running daily affairs. But after Zhou's death in January 1976, Maoists purged Deng once again.

Following Mao's death later in 1976, Deng was able to outmaneuver Mao's anointed successor, Hua Guofeng, and consolidate his control of the CPC in the late 1970s. Hua was replaced by Zhao Ziyang as premier in 1980, and by Hu Yaobang as CPC chief in 1981. After 1987 Deng's only official posts were as chairman of the PRC and CPC Central Military Commissions; he exercised his power behind the scenes.

Even while consolidating his political power, Deng initiated a "reform and opening" policy that sparked an industrial revolution in China. Deng decentralized economic decision making, embraced the "socialist market economy," and sought the "Four Modernizations" of agriculture, industry, science and technology, and the military. These reforms were a reversal of the Maoist policy of economic self-reliance, but they accelerated the modernization process through "opening" to foreign trade and investment. Special Economic Zones were established where foreign investment and market liberalization were encouraged.

In 1989, Deng ordered the crackdown on the Beijing Spring protestors, precipitating the Tiananmen Square crisis of June 4, 1989. In the spring of 1992, Deng went on his "southern tour" to Canton and Shenzhen, reviving economic reforms that had been stalled since 1989.

Deng Xiaoping died on February 19, 1997.

Finally got power back after three days without it in Texas :doomjak: at the very least i had semi running water and a gas stove but god damn the entire experience was surreal and i for some reason had more hope during/after a hurricane had hit the state. it had gotten to a point where my roommates and I had started contemplating on rationing water bottles and bread bc there were grocery lines in the morning that stretched across the parking lots (and maybe I was in a daze but I had genuinely forgotten a pandemic was still happening). The fucking ghouls blaming this on wind energy and then that fucking piece of slab Ted Cruz fucking off to Cancun not even a day after it was made sure the rich will be fine was a little too much to take in at once.

They really do not give a fuck about us.

Glad you got water back, the grocery lines are wild. My apartment's heat is based on water heater so even tho electricity is back no water means no heat.

Sorry man, hope you start to feel better. It took a while for me to get over one of my old jobs I got laid off from as I liked a lot of the people that worked there and we hung out after work and stuff.

Everything is made in china. The things, all of them, are produced in china. They aren't produced anywhere else. China has the means of production. They seized them. The capitalists betrayed themselves like the little red book said they would. China had it figured out this whole time. We just never knew. They seized the means of production without firing a single bullet. That is an incredible achievement.

Masstagger is the gift that keeps on giving. I absolutely love seeing people with the_donald or SJWorStormfront or hatecrimehoaxes tags trying to sea lion in a thread and just call them out on their post history. Then when they get all pissy at you and accusing you of stalking them, you mention Masstagger, and then they call you an authoritarian communist who is out to get them. Like no shit, why do you think I'm on chapochat lmao

I’m gonna sell like 90% of what I own I think. I don’t even look at most of it and with shit getting more and more dicey in America, it’s just more and more shit I’d need to replace. Also don’t feel great about converting it all into money that sits in a bank tho cuz if it goes tits up all that shit will be worthless. I know everyone has historically laughed at preppers but I kinda feel like it’s something we ought to start thinking about

I really realized how useless I would be if everything collapsed. Like I barely knew how the water in my own house functioned lol. I really want to start learning to be useful in some way. My job is fucking bullshit and only could exist in bourgeois decadence. I’d just be standing around like a child like “halp, ppl, pls”

I feel the same way with my job. I might be too late to the prepping party but my pandemic/climate disaster anxieties have resulted in me learning more about cooking and gardening. Better than nothing I suppose.

Yeah it’s never too late to learn I suppose. I’m wondering if there’s like any meet ups or little survivalist groups I can look around for in my area. We’re gonna be moving out of state soon so maybe I can get together with people in a local org and see about finding something.

I tried to learn more about cooking but I hate it... also id always get hungry watching tutorials lol. But now I have new motivation may give it another shot

Even skills that might seem unrelated, such as sewing, are useful in a collapse scenario.

Building a community that can be self-sustainable beyond the collapse is also imperative

That should be the single biggest item on your prepping list. Tight community knowing each other.

Family is only one option for community. If you can, move to a less urban / centralized area and get to know your neighbours well.

Well what I mean is I should probably convert it into something more useful at some point. Either gold or tools or food stock pile. Idk

Deng Xiaoping is definitely a misunderstood figure in left wing spaces imo. Both good and bad.
