Got mad at it today because I looked up prices on a whim and they've actually gone up in price since I was in high school lmao.
I don't think the programming features (or most features really) of TI graphing calculators are taught in schools generally. I'll admit TI BASIC was my first language tho.
TI’s cost for a calculator is about $20 and calculators represent such a minuscule portion of their revenue, they don’t even report them as a line item. They could drop the price to $30 tomorrow and still make a better margin than almost anyone else. But they’re shitty people riding the wave of decades of intense lobbying.
(Critical support for the nSpire line, which has a great algebra and calculus solver, and runs a modern ARM platform, though, for the reasonable cost of $140.)I take it back. I just looked at the spec sheet and it still uses a fucking mini USB connector. What the fuck. Eat a dick, TI.you can run emulators on the nSpire with hacks, pretty chill playing pokemon emerald in class.
My n-spire CAS got me through some tough fucking times ngl. Unfortunately it's the only item I know that uses a mini USB instead of a micro like every other piece of consoomer electronics made this decade.
