This whole thing has just been such a shit show. From bungling response to blatant hypocrisy from leaders to mask fatigue and no relief to vaccine rollout being bungled.
Getting the vaccine on Friday and I'm anxious for several reasons.
I'm not anticipating any serious side effects. But there is the fear. I'm a bit immobile right now since my car broke down during this -20 weather. So if I do get bad symptoms I'm a bit stuck. And I know there's people in healthcare who aren't intelligent, but it does worry me so many are refusing to take it. And I'm nervous with how quickly it was rolled out.
I'm also just tired of dealing with my students. I'm in rural Iowa, aka Trump country. We have an early out on Friday so staff can get vaccinated and the last few weeks it's just the kids running their mouths about it. I know it's because of their parents but I just want to beat a few of them. I've even gotten bored of asking them if they know when the last case of polio was and them responding "what's polio?"
I'm sure this has been asked before, but has anyone had the vaccine? How'd it go? Anything I need to be worried about?
Glad to hear it worked out for your girlfriend.
My immune system is typically pretty solid so I'm hoping I don't experience anything!
