    Counterpoint: it's good when bad people die because they can't harm other people anymore. It's completely fine to celebrate when a horrible person dies, because they should absolutely be held accountable for their actions and dying doesn't magically absolve you of everything you did while you were alive.

    Even if you have a baseline of "everyone deserves respect" it's pretty fucking easy to see how people like Rush should have immediately lost that baseline of respect due to his words and deeds.

    What is the point of "being civil" in this case? Who is being hurt by shitting on an old, racist, bigot? Other shitty racists? Guess what, they don't deserve any respect either.

    This shit is pure idealism brainworms.

      It's anti-revolutionary. If the poors get it into their head that sometimes your abuser actually deserves death then none of those in power are safe.
