Counterpoint: it's good when bad people die because they can't harm other people anymore. It's completely fine to celebrate when a horrible person dies, because they should absolutely be held accountable for their actions and dying doesn't magically absolve you of everything you did while you were alive.

Even if you have a baseline of "everyone deserves respect" it's pretty fucking easy to see how people like Rush should have immediately lost that baseline of respect due to his words and deeds.

What is the point of "being civil" in this case? Who is being hurt by shitting on an old, racist, bigot? Other shitty racists? Guess what, they don't deserve any respect either.

This shit is pure idealism brainworms.

It's anti-revolutionary. If the poors get it into their head that sometimes your abuser actually deserves death then none of those in power are safe.

This guy was vocal about how we shouldn't revel in the death of Osama bin Laden when it happened so I will give him credit for being consistent, at least.

Yeah, that at least puts him above the general corporate media ghouls. But nonetheless, dancing crabs

To mock mr. Hitler's death is also to mock the pain of those who loved him. It is to see only part of a person, and therefore ignore the fullness of a human being. What better way to begin the restoration of civility than to refrain from dancing on the graves of the dead?

it's important to celebrate ghouls' deaths so ghouls-to-be can see how they will be detested after their deaths and maybe choose a different path

Damn Atlantic, what if I told you that's my excuse for pissing on Rush Limbaugh's grave?
